Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a component of traditional Chinese medicine that originated in China over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the belief that living beings have a vital energy, called Qi, which circulates through the twelve meridians of the body. Each meridian is associated with a different organ system. An imbalance in the flow of Qi throughout a meridian is how disease begins.  Acupuncturists insert needles into specified points along meridian lines to influence and restore balance to the flow of Qi. There are over 1,000 acupuncture points on the body.  The acupuncturist will choose points according to the imbalances in your body.  Upon insertion, you may feel a slight sting, prick or electrical sensation. Once the needle is inserted, there should be no pain. Clients often leave feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic Acupuncture is commonly referred to as a non-surgical facelift.  It is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese medicine.  The treatment involves the insertion of very thin disposable needles into acupuncture points on the face.  The insertion of the needles increases circulation of Qi and blood, which moistens the skin and stimulates the production of collagen.  This gives skin a glowing, firmer appearance while reducing fine lines and wrinkles.  Cosmetic acupuncture may take 5-10 years off your face.  It can help to minimize dark circles, puffy eyes, double chins, sagging skin and drooping eyelids.
